The Superpower Within

When I learned that my thoughts create my emotions –EVERYTHING CHANGED.

Of course, I’d known that positive thinking was a good thing and that I could sometimes (in my own mind) probably make a little thing into a big one.

I knew that people contribute to their own emotional state. But the reality that we basically create ALL of it. That was a giant shift.

Frustration, anxiety, anger … NONE of it was capable of existing without a thought.

That it was, in fact, impossible for the brain to jump from event to emotion on it’s own (the science of CBT). And we can CREATE the thoughts we want to have.

It meant I was NEVER at the whim of what was going on around me – a victim to NOTHING.

Does it mean that much to you?

If not, please google the connection between thought and emotion. I really want you to understand.

We live our lives being affected by everything around us. Wishing that this or that would be different. Wanting other people to change. Feeling left out or overlooked, not good enough,  or whatever it is. When we have the ability to create our own story.

You don’t master this skill overnight, but the simple knowing that this power is inside of you is an amazing gift. And I’m exercising the muscle every day.

You CAN learn new tricks in the middle of your journey… new tools that CHANGE IT ALL. That make you see and do things differently.

What you’ve done (or not done) in the past is NOT an indicator for your future, when you wrap your mind around this concept!
